My future is in The Lord´s hands and Let the salvation flag gently blow.

When I was a child my father bought an old  gramophone at an auction. Together with the gramophone were a bunch of  old 78 records. A lot of them were the Salvation Army; ladies singing with guitars and piano. It touch my heart although I didn't fully understand the texts. Today I do understand and was glad to find them om You Tube. 
 Unfortunately I could not find them  in English.

I have the highest respect for the Salvation Army and I think they are doing tremendous work among people "living in the shadows".

Were It Not For Grace

Time measured out my days, life carried me along
In my soul I yearned to follow God but knew I'd never be so strong
I looked hard at this world to learn how Heaven could be gained
Just to end where I began, where human effort is all in vain
