The difference.

 A man from Eritrea fled his country and after months of walking he ended up in Libya. He was put in prison in a huge building together with thousands of other refugees. After a few days some men arrived and they walked through this compact crowd searching for Christian men and women.  They were especially looking for people who had a cross around their neck. When they found them they took them outside and shot them.  The man who told about this had his cross in one of his shoes. This saved his life.
A woman who listened to this story said: “If it had been me I would have thrown that cross away.
After seconds of silence one person said “You don´t throw away something so important!”
A feeling of tension grew in the room and the conversation went into a different direction. The subject of the cross was closed.

You might have an opinion about why this man hid his cross in his shoe; but I leave that discussion to you. I started to ponder over the difference between Christian and Non-Christian view of life.

There is a difference between the person who confesses faith in Jesus Christ and the person who professes an atheistic view of life. There is a difference between the person who confesses faith in Jesus Christ as his or her savior, and a person who puts his or her faith in anything but Jesus Christ. Because you need not be an atheist; you just have to replace Jesus with whatever you like and you are in the same position as the atheist; dead in spirit. Any other spirit that is not the Holy Spirit is a spirit of death.
The Bible says that the person who doesn´t believe in Jesus Christ as his or her savior is dead in the spirit. A dead person doesn’t understand what life in Christ is all about. He or she has to be resurrected in the spirit and when accepting God’s offer of redemption through Jesus Christ that very thing will happen; a transformation from death to life. A transformation from a heart of stone to a heart of blood; that is; a new way of thinking; in line with the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 2
Made Alive in Christ
1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,
 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world
 and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air,
the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
All of us also lived among them at one time,
gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a]
and following its desires and thoughts.
Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
But because of his great love for us,
God, who is rich in mercy,
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions
—it is by grace you have been saved.
And God raised us up with Christ
and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
in order that in the coming ages
he might show the incomparable riches of his grace,
expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith
—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God
not by works, so that no one can boast.
 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus
to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ehesians 1: 13
13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

It all starts and ends with Jesus. Your new life starts in Christ; becoming a child of God and as a child of God you end this life on earth with Jesus and his saving grace the day you enter into eternity to face God. In Christ you have redemption of sin and will not be condemned.

John 3:14-17

14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,[a] 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”[b]
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Sincerely yours, Ida

I must tell Jesus - Kirkland Family

  1. I must tell Jesus all of my trials,
    I cannot bear these burdens alone;
    In my distress He kindly will help me,
    He ever loves and cares for His own.
    • Refrain:
      I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
      I cannot bear my burdens alone;
      I must tell Jesus! I must tell Jesus!
      Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.
  2. I must tell Jesus all of my troubles,
    He is a kind, compassionate Friend;
    If I but ask Him He will deliver,
    Make of my troubles quickly an end.
  3. Tempted and tried I need a great Savior,
    One who can help my burdens to bear;
    I must tell Jesus, I must tell Jesus:
    He all my cares and sorrows will share.
