Dear reader,
I was thinking; while listening to Mr Kirkland's story, of a scripture from Acts 4:13
where it says "When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus."
A long time ago, I had a job as a nurse in a home for rehabilitation of drug addicts.
It was led by a Christian organization, and from time to time I met a
counselor who also worked at that home.
He was a friendly, low-key and wise person who immediately
gave a calm impression. I assumed he had lived his whole life
as a Christian because he exuded an air of Jesus wherever he was.
I was very surprised when he told me that for many years he had been an addict and
that his home had been under a fir tree beside a bridge in a big city.
I could not believe that his story was true and I could not imagine what his life had been like
when I saw him now.
His calm comment, and smile, to my surprised observation was:
"so it will be for those who meet and follow Jesus." Sincerely yours Ida
