An appeal.

Dear visitors to my Blog.
I would like to say a few things as an appeal to you who is reading this.

I have noticed that there are more visitors to the posts that have videos with only songs but much fewer when the videos are about the teaching of God's Word. After all, videos with Bible studies or worship services are much longer than videos with  songs, but I want to emphasize that the most important thing you can see and listen to is definitely the teaching of God's Word.

When I discovered the difference in visit frequency, I remembered a word from the Bible that Jesus himself said. "Man lives not only by bread, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God."

In Sweden we have a "tradition" called "Fika". "Fika" is a break that consists mostly of coffee / tea and something sweet; such as buns, cookies or cake. If you want a more nutritious “Fika”, sweets are replaced by sandwiches (or maybe fruit). It will satisfy the hunger for a shorter time but not as sustainable in time as a real meal.
I tell you this as a “picture” of the difference between the songs and the videos with the teaching of God's Word. You need both.

The songs can speak to you for the moment and in a special situation, but if you are going to have something more sustainable to live on for an extended period of time, you must nourish yourself with God's Word. It is essential that God's Word gets its place and time in your life as a Christian. And if you are not yet a professing Christian, God's Word can open your eyes to Jesus and what He has done for you. All the words of God  points to Jesus in one way or the other.

You may be wondering about my choice of songs and the Bible studies.

The videos can speak into my own life and where I am at the moment, but what is shown is first and foremost for You, dear reader. I ask the Holy Spirit about what is right to show, because of what you might need. Sometimes there is no response from the Holy Spirit (not because of Him but more because of me I’m sure); and it takes longer before I get a "hint" about what to show. You may be grateful for the delay, because it is an advantage for you that I am more confident of what the Holy Spirit wants to mediate to You.

I have chosen "A one year journey through the Bible" because I think I can trust the preaching from the pastors who work with this series. I must admit that I like the sermons  by Pastor Colin Smith the most; but it is entirely related to my own attitude on how the Word of God should be preached. It is so liberating to hear a pastor preach God's word clear and simple without having to "please" the audience in a way that would better suit a stand-up comedian. But it is my personal opinion that you have to endure.
So my wish is that you take the time to listen to God's Word and expect God to reveal not only the meaning of His Word but also Jesus and the joy in Him in God's Word.

There is one last thing that I also want to comment on.

This is a small Blog considering that there has only been 16000 side views since 2010 when it started. And maybe it is because of its “smallness” that some time ago somebody infiltrated my Blog with a link to a commercial site. I don´t know what kind of site it was but I tried to block it. I don’t know much about computer engineering but I do know that  I don´t want to be somebody´s “bridge” to anything that I don´t approve of or know what it is all about. This Blog is entirely created to show the way to faith in Jesus and nothing else.
It is of the utmost importance that those who enter this Blog is not exposed to anything else but what is shown in the videos or in the writing I share. That is my responsibility to you and God.

Thank you for reading this far and I hope you understand my care for You and your walk with God as well as the existence of this Blog. Next year it is 10 years since I started it and I  have thought more than once -  "is there any meaning to this?"  -  but then I think of You out there; who might need a song or a Word for the day and it gives motivation to continue for some time yet.
Since this is a small Blog I keep thinking that whoever finds this place will be in need of what is posted here.

I wish you God´s Abundant Blessing.
Sincerely yours,
Ida
