Granny's weather

Dear friend,
This is how it looks like in my part of the world. It's "granny's weather"= snowstorm.
When I was a child an uncle told about my grandmother and how eccentric she was.

He lived next door to her and in the winter he used to give her a ride with horse and sled wherever she wanted to go. On a sunny day, when he offered her to go to her sister, as she had asked for, she said she couldn't go that day. But the next day when the snow was tumbling down and the roads had decimeter-thick cover of snow she decided she wanted to go after all. He had promised and so he grumpily took out the horse and sled and they made the trip and she enjoyed the ride all the way. It didn't happen just once but it became a habit and so whenever it is a snow storm I think of "granny" and her habit to "challenge the storm". I don't think she was reckless or a lady with poor judgment; but she trusted my uncle to know if it was safe to be out in the storm.

Later in life, I have realized that she had to face other storms in her life that was far more difficult than a snowstorm, but I also understand that she had faith in God and she trusted in him and that he would take her through.

It isn't easy to be calm and firm when life isn't fair and everything is tumbling down around you. It is easy to talk a lot about trust in God; but it is far more difficult to live with trust in God whatever happens. But try to remember who is holding the reins. My granny came to her destination because my uncle controlled the horse and knew the way; and you can trust God to know what he is doing and he will get you out of the storm. And that is not just words but a fact.
